Third class have recently welcomed a new member to their class!
Wibby arrived last week in the middle of all the excitement of the Official School Opening.
Wibby very kindly showed us the DVD of The BFG that day, another Roald Dahl book we have really enjoyed together, and Wibby has been settling in since. Wibby is great at typing but is having a few problems with handwriting and Maths, nothing that can’t be sorted out with some one-to-one attention! We have all played with Wibby a little bit but this new addition is causing some problems trying to introduce new games to the class!

We named our trial IWB Jedward last Autumn and we had good fun coming up with a new name for this one. Everyone had an opportunity to suggest a name and to type it on the new laptop that came with our new IWB! Once the brainstorming was done, it was time to start the vote. It actually came down to the third round, with names getting eliminated at each stage and the people who had voted for the eliminated names getting to use their Number 2 and even Number 3 vote.
The result was very tight and the name Wibby beat Didier Drogba by a hair’s breath! Ciaran provided an excellent commentary to the process and tension was high as the final votes came in!
The name Wibby came from the three letters IWB which we mixed around and played with to come up with Wibby.
We hope Wibby really enjoys being a part of our class and helps us with our work!
