The Special Olympics Ireland Torch run began on Wednesday the 2nd of June. Our school had the honour of being visited by one of the teams,comprising of members of An Garda Síochána, the Police Service Northern Ireland and local Special Olympic athletes. The opening ceremony will take place when the torch arrives in Thomond Park, Limerick on the 9th of June. We made our own olympic torches to cheer the Special Olympians on their way.
