Fifth Class News

Fifth class have just finished a very successful project on Greece. We learned about many different aspects of Greek culture, geography and history. To use everything we learned, each of us created a Tourist Information Booklet about Greece outlining exciting things for tourists to do in Greece. We researched water sports, historical sites, beaches and restaurants in Greece and compiled our information in colourful, easy-to-read booklets. President Mc Aleese was very impressed when she came to our classroom to look at our projects!

We also learned about Greek mythology and created our own mythical creatures and stories to go with each creature.

This week we have been studying 3-D shapes in Maths; we even drew nets of different 3-D shapes and assembled them to make solid shapes with card, this involved some very careful measuring and cutting.

In Art we have been creating pictures to illustrate the message “Violent Behaviour Is Never Acceptable”. We brainstormed the topic and talked about different kinds of violence and we created some very effective images and symbols to get our message across.
