As part of our celebrations for World Book Week, Suzanne Dowling came to speak with the children today about poetry and writing. Suzanne chatted with the children about the importance of the imagination when writing. The children discovered how they use their imagination every day when they play. Suzanne spoke of how having a rich reading experience can help us all in our own writing. She then read two of her own poems for the classes. The children then listened to Suzanne reading a story and they had to use their imagination throughout the story to imagine what some of the characters might say. The visit will be one of the highlights for us during World Book Week.
