Book Fair 2011

We are very excited to announce that the annual Travelling Book Fair will be arriving in NETNS on Wednesday 2nd of March. The Book Fair will be in the school until Monday 7th March and will coincide with NETNS Book Week 2011. The Book Fair will take place in our Library on the first floor. The Book Fair will have hundreds of books to choose from and the children will have time each day during school to visit the Book Fair to look at and purchase books. Busy week

Rowan in 2nd class wrote a terrific story at home inspired by the book he has been reading. It was lovely to read and great that he brought it in to share with his teachers and class. Some of 2nd class were busy making menu's for a Café. It was great fun pretending we were in a real restaurant. 4th class have been working hard to make sure their belongings are kept neat and tidy. Friendship Squad

The Friendship Squad is off to a great start in 2nd class with the first five children working hard to make sure everyone is included and no one is lonely. Shane, Muyideen, Liam, Iona and Aodán were the first five picked from a hat! 2nd class also made a beautiful friendship book. Everybody wrote about what friendship means to them. Seomra Trish

Ciarán's (4th class) first comic book story is on display at the top of the stairs to the senior corridor. Stop and have a read when you get the chance. It's about Macac-Gobah...a mad scientist! A boy in second class is starting a really interesting project on the Romans...so far we have learned that they only ate one meal a day. Imagine how hungry they'd be! Comic Creation and other things in Seomra Trish

Ciarán from 4th class is almost finish the first in a serious of comic stories. Keep you eye out for the first edition which will be displayed in the corridor next week. Gary's castle is slowing but surely filling up with all the spellings he has learned so far this year. Loads of children have taken a guess at how many spellings or blocks it will take to finish the whole castle. Some people have estimated 2008! Only time will tell. Realt na Seactaine is back!

A big thank you to Ciarán and Lucy from 4th class who got Realt na Seactaine underway again in NETNS this week. The photograph's of this year's first ten Irish stars are on display in the reception area of the school. Well done to everybody who won this week. Twink is visiting…

It has been a very exciting week for some of 2nd class. We kept finding trails of glitter in the room and then one day there was a little letter in a golden envelope. It turned out Twink, one of Santa's fairies, was visiting our school to count the children but she has gotten stuck!
