We're making great progress on the NETNS School Garden.   Thank you for all of the kind donations and we are now very well stocked for seeds, bulbs and planting trays. If you have any spare tools, we would love to have a hoe or a rake and few more hand trowels and forks. We have planted the donated blackcurrant, redcurrant, raspberry and blackberry plants along the fence. Hopefully we should get our first crop this year! This week at gardening club we turned over the soil to break it … [Read more...]

Groovy Man 2!

2012-02-24 14.34.23

Our tie dyed t-shirts turned out just great! I used an olive green colour! The one common mistake we did notice is that if you did not tie the elastic bands tight enough that the dye leaks through and the pattern is not as obvious! So remember keep those elastic bands nice and tight and keep on tie dying! … [Read more...]

Taste Bud Test

Taste Bud Test Today we were doing a taste bud test. Firstly we learned that your sense of smell and taste are linked, but we couldn’t take Bobby’s word for it…we had to put it to the test. We held our noses and closed our eyes. Our partners gave us fruit and we had to guess what fruit it was. The idea was that it would be difficult to taste what fruit was what if we could not see or smell it. The fruits were mango, banana, apple, pear and pineapple. 3 quarters of our class had … [Read more...]
