Teeth
Teeth was the topic in our weekly Science lesson; we learned that there are different types of teeth for different tasks, for example molars for chewing and mashing food! We discovered that baby teeth are merely 'deciduous' and that they eventually make way for adult teeth. Josh and Patrick explained that Elephants get a new set of teeth every decade, whilst Ciaran and Gary explained how Sharks teeth move forward once the originals decay. A 'scary' looking model of a human dental system, helped … [Read more...]

Aaron, Rionna and Sadhbh from Sixth Class came into our class and demonstrated how they explored and made their circuits earlier this week, this proved most helpful and we all appreciated their input. Twink is visiting…
It has been a very exciting week for some of 2nd class. We kept finding trails of glitter in the room and then one day there was a little letter in a golden envelope. Some of the children in second class are now writing her letters to find out all about her and offer her help. They made a little bed that Twink just loved. They are learning all about how to lay out a letter … [Read more...]

River Deep Mountain High
In Fourth Class this week we have been learning to identify the different stages of a river; from its source (usually on a mountain) to its mouth (near the sea or lake), we drew fantastic 2-D pictures to help us understand the Upper, Middle and Lower course of a river. These are on display in our class. For homework, we then researched the five longest rivers in Ireland and Europe. We discovered that four of the five longest in Europe were in Russia whilst the River Shannon is the longest in … [Read more...]
