€1000 Raised for MS Ireland

A huge THANK YOU and WELL DONE to all those who took part in the MS Readathon this year. Together you raised €1000 which goes to helping people living with MS. Winter Celebrations

The children in 3rd, 5th and 6th class were reading and writing about the various winter celebrations which are celebrated around the world. We talked about Hanukkah, the Winter Solstice and Christmas. We also talked and wrote about the different traditions we practice with our friends and family during the months of December and January. International Human Rights Day

Human Rights Today is International Human Rights Day and today in fifth class we found out all about the history of human rights. We also found out that 90% of people are unable to name more than three of their 30 rights. In fifth class last week we had great fun promoting Newbridge as an excellent tourist attraction and making our own wonderful Radio advertisements.  Discover Newbridge... Why I hear you ask? Fifth Class

Hello everyone  So since we returned from the mid-term we have been busy bees. On the 3rd of November we had a basketball blitz with Griffen Valley ET. It was great fun, they are a lovely school and hopefully 5th and 6th class will be going up to visit their school soon. We have a new teacher in our class and her name is Bairbre. 5th Class

This week in fifth class we have been working extremely hard to write exciting, interesting and informative letters to our pen pal Grace. We have also been keeping up with current affairs on ‘Newsround’. We are all so happy that they got all 33 Chilean miners got out of the collapsed  mine safely , especially the poor  young 19 year old that suffered from claustrophobia .
