Permission Slips for trips to The Curragh

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),  As spring has finally sprung, we are very eager to avail of a wonderful natural resource that is right on our doorstep. The Curragh offers many beneficial learning opportunities for all the children and we would like to bring children there on fieldtrips from time to time. Book Fair 2011

We are very excited to announce that the annual Travelling Book Fair will be arriving in NETNS on Wednesday 2nd of March. The Book Fair will be in the school until Monday 7th March and will coincide with NETNS Book Week 2011. The Book Fair will take place in our Library on the first floor. The Book Fair will have hundreds of books to choose from and the children will have time each day during school to visit the Book Fair to look at and purchase books. Hi everyone, Now that spring is here and we’re halfway through the school year we’ve been busy working hard preparing for Secondary School. Film Review- Sixth Class

Over the past few weeks we have been learning all about World War 2 in History. Today we watched an amazing movie “The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas” based on the bestselling book by John Boyne. It's a remarkable and inspiring story about happenings during World War 2. The film captures the story of a boy called Bruno who has to move with his family from Berlin to the countryside. Sixth Class News

This week has been a very busy week in Sixth Class. In English we’ve started reading our class novel “Benny and Omar”. It’s the story of Benny, a young boy from Wexford who moves with his family to Tunisia. The move is very traumatic for this hurling-mad youngster. He doesn’t get on especially well with his brother and he cannot come to terms with the enlightened culture of his school. Proposed changes to toys brought in on Fridays

On the 24th of January members of fifth and sixth class sent a letter to Eimear asking if we could meet her to discuss bringing our Ipods and Nintendo’s into school on Fridays for Toy-Day. We met on 26th of January and we discussed the pros and cons of bringing in these devices. Here are some of the main issues that were brought up. Realt na Seactaine is back!

A big thank you to Ciarán and Lucy from 4th class who got Realt na Seactaine underway again in NETNS this week. The photograph's of this year's first ten Irish stars are on display in the reception area of the school. Well done to everybody who won this week.
