Unfortunately Creative Writing will not be going ahead due to lack of numbers. Those who have paid for these classes will have their money fully refunded in the next week. If you have any problems with this please contact the office to discuss other options.

Reminder: Early finishes next week

School will finish at 1.55pm on Tuesday and Wednesday (31st January & 1st February) next week to facilitate some of the progress meetings which are taking place.

Infant classes will finish at the normal time of 1.10pm.

The After School Facility will operate until 1.55pm and school buses will depart at 1.55pm.

Progress Meetings

Progress Meetings will take place during the coming weeks. Teachers will inform individual parents /guardians of their own specific time, day and date.

Due to Department regulations, progress meetings must take place outside school hours. School will close to pupils (1st to 6th class) on Tuesday 31st January and Wednesday 1st February at 1.55pm in order to facilitate some of these meetings.

Please be advised that after school care will finish at 1.55pm and the buses will also be departing school fifteen minutes early on these dates.

We will endeavour to accommodate all parents/guardians with times that suit both parties.

Religion Classes Resume Thursday 12th January

5th and 6th class will not be going swimming in January as the pool is not available but will resume again in February. (Date to be confirmed)

Can you believe it…..it’s the 22nd of December already!?

What an amazing first term we’ve had. We welcomed over 60 new children, 5 new staff members and nearly a hundred new parents to our school. We said goodbye to a terrific BoM and hello to an optimistic new BoM. The PA and Fundraising Committee have played an outstanding contribution towards the vibrant atmosphere in the school. The Student Council played host to the SC from Portlaoise ETNS. The staff have, as always, enthused and inspired us all!

This morning at our craft fair, the feeling was electric! Watching the children explain to us what they have made so eloquently and proudly, was a truly magical experience…..it was very uplifting!

Then the raffle……so many amazing prizes and such a great turn out for the “prize-giving”!

Well…..it is time to sign off for another year!!

I would like to wish each and every one of you a happy and healthy holiday and I am already looking forward to another superb year with all of you at NETNS when we return in January 2012!!

NETNS Raffle on Thursday 22nd December

The NETNS Raffle will take place in the school foyer at 10.20am on Thursday 22nd December. All are welcome to come and enjoy the raffle and some festive refreshments.

The NETNS Craft Fair will take place before the raffle; parents, guardians and friends of NETNS are welcome to come and visit. Included below is the timetable for each class. Your child’s class will be at the Craft Fair at the following times:

The children have been working extremely hard to make crafts for the fair making keyrings, mobile phone charms, cards, gift wrap, lanterns, stars, decorative bags and much more.

There will be refreshments and mince pies in the foyer provided by the Parent’s Association. All proceeds raised will go towards the school. We would really appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you on the day.

Prizewinning Filmmakers in 4th Class!

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Mark, Leon and Damian from 4th class have won 1st prize in the European Day of Languages Video Clip competition! It is fantastic news for the boys, who put in considerable effort into planning, filming and acting in the video.

The jury felt that their video ‘Goal! Scorio! Tor! Cúl’ promoted language learning in a positive and fun way. They also noted the teamwork, commitment and dedication that the boys showed to complete the project. You can watch the video below.

As recognition of their achievement, the boys and the school were awarded €300 worth of National Book Tokens! This prize has been shared between the boys themselves, 4th class (who will now be able to buy some fantastic new books) and the support staff of the school, who will be able to purchase some new resources. Well done boys!
